As quoted in the market news:
The fall in mining production was caused by outages at its Mexican Campo Morado mine in the first half, and lower production at its Canadian operations at Myra Falls and Langlois.
The group said that, as a result of the low precious metal prices, it had halted production at its Coricancha mine in Peru, which primarily mines gold and silver, and was considering its options for the future of the site.
Its zinc smelting activities performer slightly better compared to last year, with output of 1.088 million tonnes of zinc coming in at the top end of its guidance range of 1.0 to 1.1 million tonnes. It maintained this guidance for 2014.
