Tawana Resources (ASX:TAW,JSE:TAW) announced that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Liberia has been granted approval for a renewal permit for the northern exploration licence at Mofe Creek project. The EPA has also approved the annual environmental audit report for the southern licence at the project.
As quoted in the press release:

EPA approval was granted following an independent audit of the Company’s current operational activities relating to exploration activities being performed over MEL 1223/14 and MEL 12029. Tawana’s exploration program was deemed to be compliant in relation to the requirements of the EPA permit issuance, which ensures adherence to impact prevention or mitigation measures, as originally submitted by Tawana for EPA approval.

Wayne Richards, executive chairman and CEO of Tawana, commented:

Securing the permit renewal and approval of the annual audit report is necessary for the advancement of operations at Mofe Creek and is critical to our commitment to the Project’s development. This latest approval from the EPA represents another important step forward in the overall environmental permitting process.
