Maine’s Mining History, New Regulations

CNBC reported on Maine’s mining history noting the state will update and change its mining regulations affecting the iron ore industry.

As quoted in the market news:

Currently, Maine’s mining regulations are shared by the Department of Environmental Protection and Land Use Regulation Commission. Those rules will remain in place until the new rules are developed by the DEP staff and then adopted by the Legislature, DEP Commissioner Patty Aho said at the bill signing.
