Newmont Sends First Copper Shipment from Indonesia

Reuters reported that Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM) has sent its first shipment of copper concentrate from Indonesia following a deal regarding that country’s controversial mineral export rules. The miner exported 30,000 tonnes of concentrate on Monday, according to a spokesman for the source.

As quoted in the publication:

Newmont signed a key deal to resolve the export dispute with the Indonesian government early in September and expects to be fully operational at its Batu Hijau mine within six to eight weeks. It had halted production in June.
