This continued an extended decline for the metal, which has struggled against lackluster Chinese demand and an excess of global supply. Without an increase in demand from China, the world’s biggest copper consumer, it’s unlikely the metal will rebound significantly.
Comex copper for September fell 0.25 percent to hit $2.61 a pound, according to MarketWatch.
