The Globe and Mail reported that Glencore International received a nod of approval from the Federal Government of Canada on its acquisition bid for Saskatchewan-based Viterra Inc. Christian Paradis, Industry Minister, approved the bid of $6.1 billion under the Investment Canada Act.
