Canadian Government Signs Off On Glencore Bid for Viterra

Potash InvestingThe Globe and Mail reported that Glencore International received a nod of approval from the Federal Government of Canada on its acquisition bid for Saskatchewan-based Viterra Inc. Christian Paradis, Industry Minister, approved the bid of $6.1 billion under the Investment Canada Act.

As quoted in the market news:
Mr. Paradis says he only approves applications that are likely to be of net benefit to Canada and the green light brings the deal closer to final approval.
