Texas-based Cancer Researchers Receive Over $1.5 Million

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center announced that the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas awarded two of its researchers grants that together total over $1.5 million. The money will go towards new Texas-based research projects aimed at fighting cancer.

The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center announced that the Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas awarded two of its researchers grants that together total over $1.5 million. The money will go towards new Texas-based research projects aimed at fighting cancer.

As quoted in the press release:

TTUHSC researchers who received the grants are Min Kang, Pharm.D., associate professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Biochemistry, and Kalkunte S. Srivenugopal, Ph.D., associate professor in the School of Pharmacy.

Doug Stocco, the center’s executive vice president for research, commented:

This is wonderful news for TTUHSC since these grants are so competitive. Drs. Kang and Srivenugopal deserve all of the credit in the world by demonstrating their research programs are functioning at a statewide and nationally competitive level.
