A recent study by Brock and McMaster University scientists shows that red wine, consumed in moderation, inhibits the spread of lung cancer cells. However, it’s far too early for physicians to start prescribing Pinot Noir to patients.

According to an article by The Star:

[…]the findings just published in the scientific journal Cancer Cell International did have a positive bouquet. Thestudy found that moderate amounts of red wine inhibit the spread of lung cancer cells.

The study concludes:

Our data suggest that wine may have considerable anti-tumour and chemoprevention properties in lung cancer and deserves further systematic investigation in animal models of lung cancer.
