Scientists Sequence “Lotus Genome” Said to Contain Secrets About Aging

A team of 70 scientists from the United States, China, Australia and Japan have successfully sequenced the genome of the “sacred lotus” they believe could hold secrets about aging, Latinos Post reports.

As reported in the market news:

 “The lotus genome is an ancient one, and we now know its ABCs,” said Jane Shen-Miller, one of three corresponding authors of the research and a senior scientist with the Center for the Study of Evolution and the Origin of Life, at the University of California at Los Angeles.
