Naturally Splendid Enterprises (TSXV:NSP,OTCQB,NSPDF,FWB:50N) reported that results from a study regarding the effects of the exclusive HempOmega™ plant based omega product on chickens found that chickens who consumed the product had a natural omega content over 637% higher than that of chickens who consumed commercial feed. The thigh meat of the chickens also showed an increase of 372%, with lower levels of saturated fats as well.

This study was conducted by Dr. James House at the University of Manitoba on behalf of Boreal Technologies Inc. The purpose of the study was to examine the efficacy of HempOmega™ when incorporated into poultry (Chicken) feed rations and to identify to what degree HempOmega™ could increase the natural omega levels found in eggs laid by chickens that consumed varying levels of the exclusive plant based omega product. Currently, omega-3 enriched egg production makes up approximately 15% of the Canadian shell egg market.
