Annai Systems Names Biotech Leader James Levine as Chief Executive Officer

CARLSBAD, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Annai Systems, a leading genomic data solutions company, today announced
it has appointed biotech veteran James “Jamie” Levine as chief executive
officer. Michael Penley will continue to have key executive
responsibilities as Annai’s chief business officer.

Levine brings more than two decades of leadership experience to Annai
Systems. Prior to joining Annai, he was the CEO of Sapphire Energy, Inc.
and of Verenium Corporation where he led the successful
commercialization of new products for a wide variety of customer
industries. Levine previously completed a broad range of financial and
strategic assignments in the healthcare and energy industries as a
managing director at Goldman Sachs & Co.
