biOasis Technologies Making Waves in Brain Cancer Treatment

BTV posted a video interview with Rob Hutchison, CEO and chairman of biOasis Technologies Inc. (TSX:BTI,OTCQX:BIOAF). His company may have solved the problem of the blood brain barrier, which prevents brain cancer drugs from penetrating the brain.

Hutchison said:

We are the only company that’s identified a natural-occurring process through the ability to be able to target receptors in the blood brain barrier that can facilitate the transport of the therapeutic compounds across the blood brain barrier and get them into the brain tissue where they need to get to [in order] to treat diseases of the brain.

The blood brain barrier essentially blocks all therapeutic compounds from entering the brain. So if you’re trying to treat brain cancers, they’re virtually impossible to treat because of the fact that those therapeutics that they would normally use to target the disease in the body don’t get across the blood brain barrier and enter the brain tissue.
