Lithium Australia (ASX:LIT) progress report – SileachTM pilot plant testing on Pilbara Minerals Limited (ASX: PLS) spodumene concentrates Lithium Australia NL (ASX: LIT) advised on 16 December 2016 of the commencement of a 24 hour commissioning run of the SileachTM pilot plant for the processing of spodumene concentrates supplied by Pilbara Minerals Limited.
This run was part of LIT and PLS’s joint efforts toward commercialisation of SileachTM on Pilgangoora concentrates. The commissioning run terminated prematurely as a consequence of a hardware failure. The equipment has been repaired and pilot testing recommenced on the morning of 21 December 2016.
Further continuous piloting operations are planned for January 2017.
Managing director, Adrian Griffin said:
“It is unfortunate a minor equipment failure interrupted the commissioning program. We are fortunate, given the time of year, ANSTO Minerals ensured that components were readily available to affect the repair which should see us complete the commissioning process before the festive season.”
