Diana Containerships (NASDAQ:DCIX), the global shipping transportation company focused on containerships, announced earnings for the third quarter of 2016. Traders News Source, an equity research firm specializing in small and micro-cap securities, looks at recent events with the company.
As quoted in the press release:
Diana owns and operates 12 container vessels (6 Panamax and 6 Post-Panamax). The Company has reduced its fleet from 14 vessels in early 2015 to 12. Massive oversupply of new ships (larger, better fuel economy, and lower operating costs) coupled with sluggish demand due to weak world trade growth have weighed on shipping rates. DCIX stock has surged since November, but it is still well off its 52-week high of over $26 and down -50% in 2016. Recent debt renegotiation and some better earnings estimates in the industry, might have bought Diana time to weather the storm further.
Will Diana stock get its second wind? Read about that potential in our full report
