FLSmidth to Supply Equipment for Rio’s Koodaideri Mine
A contract has been freshly inked between major miner Rio Tinto and FLSmidth for the latter to supply “key minerals handling equipment” for Rio’s Koodaideri iron ore mine.
A contract has been freshly inked between major miner Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO,LSE:RIO,NYSE:RIO) and FLSmidth (CPH:FLS) for the latter to supply “key minerals handling equipment” for Rio’s Koodaideri iron ore mine in Western Australia.
According to FLSmidth, the agreement is a “turn-key contract” for design, supply, installation and commissioning at Koodaideri. Construction is docketed to begin this year with fully functional first ore expected by late 2021.
As stated in the press release:
FLSmidth will provide the products and know-how that will be instrumental in developing the Koodaideri mine to be Rio Tinto’s most technologically advanced mine to date. Rio Tinto will for the first time apply smart technology to interconnect all components in the mining value chain. FLSmidth will design the equipment to the latest Australian standards and incorporate smart 3D design and a variety of advanced engineering solutions, such as BulkExpert(TM).
