Edgewater Wireless Systems Performs Successful Technology Demonstrates
Edgewater Wireless Systems (TSXV:YFI) has completed successful technology demonstrations with several prospective customers, such as a major North American telco.
Edgewater Wireless Systems (TSXV:YFI) has completed successful technology demonstrations with several prospective customers, such as a major North American telco.
According to the press release:
The demonstration sessions tested WiFi access points from multiple vendors against Edgewater Wireless WiFi3(TM) powered access points. The demonstrations utilized 7-Signal’s (www.7signal.com) WLAN Performance Measurement Technology and iPerf Traffic Simulation Software to demonstrate WiFi3(TM) multichannel technology’s superior performance over 802.11ac. The real-time, captured results demonstrated WiFi3(TM) delivering 15-30X performance improvement vs multiple vendors’ WiFi access points.
“We’re excited to demonstrate the real world performance advantages of WiFi3(TM). The challenges of high density continue to evolve as a result of the high data demand from phones, tablets, laptops, IOT and smart devices.” said Andrew Skafel, CEO of Edgewater Wireless. “Data demand coupled with the exponential growth of users and devices is straining the limits of traditional WiFi. Add the evolving issue of interference to the mix, it’s now crippling the performance of WiFi networks. With these latest demonstrations we’ve shown how our technology outperforms in high density WiFi.” Members of the companies in attendance for the demonstrations were comprised of leading experts in WiFi and wireless technology. Edgewater Wireless will continue to work with our prospective OEM partners and Telecom companies to define a commercial and technical path forward.
