Windstream Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:WIN), a leading provider of advanced network communications announced the upcoming expansion of new southern route from Los Angeles to Dallas which will mark another milestone in the company’s 100G nationwide fiber network expansion strategy.

The company said that the new route will add almost 1700 miles to Windstream’s existing coast to coast long haul network.

With a metropolitan area population approaching 5 million, Phoenix is one of the fastest growing cities in the country, as well as an increasingly important technology hub. According to Forbes, big tech companies are establishing locations in Phoenix, drawn by its lower cost-of-living and well-educated workforce. Windstream’s increased presence in this market provides customers with cost-effective access to greater network diversity options, improved reliability and increased bandwidth capacity – all of which are critical in today’s data-driven business economy.

The southern route is scheduled for completion in third quarter 2018.
