HTC Global Services, a global provider of information technology (IT) solutions, and CareTech Solutions, an information technology (IT) and Web products and services for U.S. hospitals and healthcare systems, announced today that their Chief Information and Security Officer, Jeff Bell, will be chairing a breakout session, “Uberization of Healthcare,” at the TiECon Midwest 2016 annual conference taking place October 27 & 28, 2016 at The Henry in Dearborn, MI.
TiECon Midwest is Michigan’s largest annual conference for entrepreneurs and incubators, featuring some of the area’s top technology companies, venture capital firms and service providers, as well as member participation from TiECon’s network of over 60 chapters located throughout the world. This year’s theme, Ignite2Disrupt: Connected World and Connected Technologies, will focus on Mobility, Digital Health, Fintech, Artificial Intelligence and Global Connectivity. Past TiEcon speakers include Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, Rick Wagoner, former CEO of GM and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The “Uberization of Healthcare” session on October 28th will focus on how emerging technologies are challenging the traditional notions of how care is delivered. A diverse panel of healthcare providers and vendors will explore how these innovations can best be utilized to overcome the current fragmentation in the system to provide greater access to care while proactively engage patients with wellness education. Bell, a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), will discuss the increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats facing these technologies. With examples pulled straight from the headlines, he will identify potential vulnerabilities, like medical devices and IoT, and offer actionable advice for evaluating and developing strategies to improve cybersecurity programs that safely address them.
For more information about HTC Global Services and CareTech Solutions, conference attendees will be able to visit the companies’ TiEcon Midwest exhibit. For more information on the conference, visit www.tieconmidwest.org.
