Mining Weekly reported that Silver Wheaton Corp. (TSX:SLW) was named the fastest-growing company by Fortune magazine, commenting that the company’s CEO, Randy Smallwood, expects Silver Wheaton to remain at the top of the list for some time. The royalties and metals streamer’s profit increased by 340 percent over the past three years.
As quoted in the market news:
“We have a strong growth profile and we expect to produce 48-million ounces of silver a year within the next four years – and that excludes any future deals we may decide to enter into,” [Smallwood] telephonically said from Vancouver.
The world’s largest streaming company, which recorded $575-million in net profit over the last three years, had also grown its revenue by 76% to $771-million over the period.
“It is all about choosing the right commodity and being focused on silver had proved to be a good decision for us. We are careful to select projects that would deliver significant organic growth,” he said.
