The price of silver fell to its lowest point in one month on Tuesday before rebounding slightly to hit $16.17 an ounce, according to Reuters. The metal was still down 0.8 percent for the day.

Silver has struggled in 2015 as investors shift away from commodities in anticipation of a key funds rate increase from the US Federal Reserve. If it occurs, it will be the first rate hike since 2008, when the Fed started dropping rates to stimulate the economy.
