South Africa’s Government Intervenes To Assist Platinum Sector

Mining Weekly reported South Africa’s Mining Industry Growth and Development Task Team (Migdett) will intervene to assist the struggling platinum sector.

As quoted in the market news:

The platinum task team (PTT), a Migdett offshoot, has identified interventions that could assist the sector in the short term and position it along a sustainable growth trajectory in the medium to long term.

The short-term interventions being developed and interrogated further for implementation include commitment to working together to explore mechanisms of cost reduction and exploring other applications and demand drivers of platinum.
