South Africa Unions, Miners, Companies Have Peace Talks

Globe and Mail reported South African officials led a talk between unions and platinum producers after a violent strike at Lonmin’s (LSE:LMI) mine left 44 people dead.

As quoted in the market news:

About 50 negotiators for management, unions and non-union workers filled the town hall in Rustenburg, near the Marikana mine in South Africa’s North West province, for closed-door meetings mediated by labour ministry officials.
