Rockland Minerals Corp. (TSXV:RL) released an update on its 2015 exploration plans for its Quebec-based Blue Lake/Retty Lake PGM-copper-nickel project.

As quoted in the press release:

Rockland has analyzed the results from combined geophysical, geochemical and geological surveys and a recent geophysical inversion study over the expanded project area to constrain drill targeting.

The inversion study enables Rockland to define the geophysical signature of the Blue Lake mineralized zones, and to project this knowledge to define new drill targets. Relatively flat-lying conductors defining the down-plunge extension of the Blue Lake mineralization are especially favourable target areas for the discovery of new PGE-Cu-Ni mineralized zones.

Numerous priority drill targets have been identified. Planning is underway for a summer detailed portable XRF and ground mag-VLF survey, followed by drilling. The ground target validation process will help constrain our drill targets and the likelihood of successful drill intersections.

George F. Saunders, a director at Rockland, commented:

This new geophysical interpretation is showing us possible mineralized feeder structures at our Lost Lake and Starr Lake PGE-Cu-Ni zones, and at Flying Duck Lake immediately adjacent to the Blue Lake massive sulfide occurrences. Defining feeder zones for the Montagni Group (Blue Lake South) of mafic and ultramafic sills will be an important step towards new discoveries in the District. Rockland will provide further updates as we get closer to the start of the program.
