RBPlats and Others Say Consolidation in Platinum Sector is Inevitable

Mineweb reported Royal Bafokeng Platinum (FWB:7BF) CEO, Steve Phiri said the industry is likely to continue to consolidate as partnerships are a key part of the miner’s business model.

As quoted in the market news:

Phiri joins a circle of platinum players making similar noises. Anglo American CEO, Cynthia Carroll, recently said that it would be reviewing the shape and size of its platinum operations. African Rainbow Minerals chairman, Patrice Motsepe, said it was positioning itself for acquisitions and that the time was ripe for entry into the platinum sphere.
