Platinum Sector Yet to Recover from Strike

Business Day Live reported that the platinum sector is still reeling from last year’s South African strike, with the output levels in the sector more than 20 percent lower than pre-strike levels.

As quoted in the market news:

This is the sobering news contained in the November mining output data that Statistics SA released on Tuesday. Production was much weaker than expected, contracting a seasonally adjusted 1.2% month on month against a consensus expectation of a 0.5% fall.
