Platinum Group Metals Moves Ahead With Western Bushveld Joint Venture

Mining Weekly reported Platinum Group Metals (TSX:PTM,NYSE:PLG) is moving ahead with its flagship Western Bushveld joint venture.

As quoted in the market news:

South Africa’s struggling platinum mining sector has some companies placing operations under care and maintenance, while others have slashed spending plans in response to weak prices.

However, PTM CEO Michael Jones told Mining Weekly Online that high head grades of 7 g/t, shallow depths and low costs of about $665 per platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold element (4E) ounce at the WBJV contributed to the project’s robustness.
