Visual Capitalist posted an infographic on the history of platinum. It is the first in a series that will include two further parts.

As quoted in the market news:

Platinum is extremely rare, with a concentration of only 0.005 ppm (parts per million) in the Earth’s crust.

In comparison: silver is 0.075 ppm, gold is 0.0004 ppm.
