Business Returns to Normal at Amplats Mine

Mineweb reported that on Saturday, Anglo American Platinum Ltd. (OTC Pink:AGPPY) said that operations at its South Africa-based Thembelani mine have returned to normal. On Friday, a “group of employees” had prevented 2,400 workers from returning from underground.

As quoted in the market news:

‘The situation at the mine is normal, people came above ground yesterday evening,’ Amplats spokeswoman Mpumi Sithole said.

The industrial action followed the dismissal of four union shop stewards for ‘inappropriate behaviour’.
