Aquarius Platinum Suspends Operations At Kroondal Platinum Mine

Reuters reported Aquarius Platinum (LSE:AQP) has suspended operations at its Kroondal platinum mine near Rustenburg in South Africa until Sept. 16.

As quoted in the market news:

[This is] a precautionary measure given rising tensions in the country’s platinum belt.

Global miner Xstrata also said it had closed down its chrome mine near Rustenburg for the day. None of its other operations were affected, it added.
