Manufacturing strength fuels industrial metals

The Financial Times.com reports that better-than-expected  Chinese manufacturing data has sent commodities up to a two-year peak, including palladium.

The story is quoted as saying:

China’s manufacturing strength should also be positive for palladium prices. The precious metal is primarily used in catalytic converters that scrub car exhausts. It is dominant in converters used in gasoline cars, which predominate in the Chinese market.
