Mandalay Resources (TSX:MND) reported that the union at its Cerro Bayo mine in Chile. The company and union have been engaged in ongoing bargaining efforts to reach a new collective agreement.
As quoted in the press release:
It is not known how long the strike action will be and the impact on production is therefore undetermined at this time. Mine production is temporarily suspended due to blocked access to the mine site. Mandalay will ensure the safety of all employees, and safe road access, before resumption of operations. The Company remains committed to maintaining positive relations with its Cerro Bayo workforce and remaining in compliance with all of its labour relations obligations under Chilean law.
