Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (TSX:PTQ,OTC:PTQMF,FRA:P7Z) announced that Phase 1 of its mineral resource and reserve update is complete.

The Company has formally upgraded its NI 43-101 compliant Measured and Indicated resource to a proven and probable reserve of 643,266 contained gold ounces as of the October 1, 2010, production cut-off.
