NioGold Mining Coproration (TSXV:NOX) announced the results from 20 diamond drill holes of the infill program at its Marban property in Quebec, which included 40.42 g/t gold over 4.8 meters.

NioGold Mining Coproration (TSXV:NOX) announced the results from 20 diamond drill holes of the infill program at its Marban property in Quebec, which included 40.42 g/t gold over 4.8 meters.

As quoted in the press release:

With these twenty new holes totaling 6,489.5 meters, a total of 69 drill holes for a cumulative length of 23,383.5 meters have been released. These new holes are spread over a strike length of 150 meters in the western portion of the Marban deposit completing a 25 meter-spaced drilling pattern as well as on two sections in the eastern portion which are now drilled at every 25 meters.

Of the 50,000 meter infill drill program, a total of approximately 43,000 meters of drilling has been completed so far. The remaining 7,000 meters of the program will fill in the last gaps along the sections to complete the 25 meter-spacing on them.

    Drill highlights include:

    • 40.42 g/t Au over 4.8 m in drill hole MB-15-391 at 110 m vertical depth.
    • 25.05 g/t Au over 1.2 m in drill hole MB-15-393 at 225 m vertical depth.
    • 159.13 g/t Au over 1.0 m in drill hole MB-15-393 at 255 m vertical depth.
    • 5.83 g/t Au over 6.7 m in drill hole MB-15-398 at 120 m vertical depth.
    • 8.51 g/t Au over 9.7 m in drill hole MB-15-406 at 225 m vertical depth.
    • 16.51 g/t Au over 5.2 m in drill hole MB-15-410 at 250 m vertical depth
    • 26.35 g/t Au over 1.2 m in drill hole MB-15-410 at 300 m vertical depth.

Robert Wares, president and CEO of NioGold, commented:

High-grade intersections that are located outside the modeled pit shell indicate a potential for increasing the in-pit resource within an enlarged shell. Alternatively, we will follow up on these intersections for their underground mining potential, which will require additional targeted drilling.
