GMV Minerals Inc. Discovers 12 New Geophysical Target Zones In Oko Region, Guyana

GMV Minerals Inc.(TSXV:GMV) announced that it has received further detailed airborne magnetic and gamma-ray spectrometry survey data. The new data covers GMV’s Oko claims in Guyana.
As quoted in the press release:
- Twelve discrete zones of ‘structural complexity’ are identified from the magnetic analysis. The most prospective areas are those where inferred structural complexity occurs adjacent to the regions of magnetic discontinuity which themselves are indicative of regional shear zones.
- Three of the ‘structually complex zones’ are distinguished by anomalously high gamma-ray spectrometry responses and appear to correlate directly to a mapped area of Lower Proterozoic greenstones (metasediments). These high potassium readings occur within otherwise potassium-poor metasedimentary / metavolcanic rocks, and occur along or adjacent to inferred (magnetics) fault/shear zones and may therefore indicate anomalous sericite alteration.
