AIM Round-Up: Cluff, New World Oil and Gas Enjoy Gains
On Friday, the Alternative Investment Market rose 0.06 percent, or 0.44 points, hitting 722.19 points. Top gainers were New World Oil and Gas and Cluff Natural Resources.
On Friday, the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) rose 0.06 percent, or 0.44 points, hitting 722.19 points.
Stocks in neighboring Europe stayed steady or rose Friday, according to Investing.com, as European Central Bank (ECB) President Mario Draghi said Thursday that the ECB will begin purchasing asset-backed securities in a program that will run for two years. Draghi also said the bank will take other steps if necessary.
A top AIM gainer was New World Oil and Gas (LSE:NEW), which gained 20 percent to trade at GBP0.33. Coal company Cluff Natural Resources (LSE:CLNR) also gained, adding 23.33 percent to trade at GBP4.62.
Other resource companies did not fare so well, like oil and gas producer Sefton Resources (LSE:SER), which fell 28 percent to trade at GBP0.09. Exploration company Forte Energy (LSE:FTE) also fell, dropping 17.07 percent to trade at GBP0.17.
