Funds needed urgently for DRC minerals-tracing project – ITRI

Mining Weekly.com reports that the  continued ban on mining in the DRC is presenting problems to trace the production of conflict minerals, with a looming April 1 deadline.

The editorial is quoted as saying:

“The pilot project for the tagging/chain of custody system was just beginning to operate smoothly when the mining suspension was implemented and all work had to stop,” sustainability and regulatory affairs manager Kay Nimmo told Mining Weekly Online
