Virgin Metals Inc. Provides Update on Alamos Gold Project
Virgin Metals Inc. (TSXV:VGM) announced the details regarding initial assessment efforts at their Alamos Gold project located in Sonora, Mexico.
As quoted in the press release:
Highlights
•Preliminary grab samples from the original mine waste dumps assayed up to 27.4 g/t of gold along with 210 g/t of silver;
•Chip samples from quartz vein areas around the property were almost all anomalous in gold content (up to 2.6 g/t maximum)
•Chip samples from the granodiorite intrusion were gold bearing (assaying up to 4.4 g/t Au). The presence of gold within the intrusion is significant as it demonstrates the potential for a larger disseminated style ore body
Alamos Project
The Alamos project is 300 Ha in size and located NW of Caborca in Sonora, north of significant mineralized structures being mined/explored currently by others. The property hosts the historic La Campana mine containing a series of underground adits that produced gold in the 1930′s and 1940′s.
