Lower Molybdenum Sales Hurt Thompson Creek’s Profits

Winnipeg Free Press reported that Thompson Creek Metals’ (TSX:TCM) first quarter profits fell due to slower sales.

As quoted in the market news:

Sales volumes at its mines fell to 4.9 million pounds of molybdenum, compared to 10.1 million pounds in the first quarter of 2011. The average realized sales price for molybdenum was $14.74 per pound, compared to $17.39 per pound in the first quarter of 2011.
