Metal Bulletin reported that for the most part, molybdenum market participants in China expect the country to cancel the current export quotas and tax on the metal in 2015.

As quoted in the market news:

One of the signals that Beijing may finally drop the restrictions on molybdenum is that it has not yet started a survey of producers’ output and export volumes for the year, according to market participants. ‘The Ministry of Commerce needs time to conduct such a survey, then allocates export quotas for the coming year based on the result. They usually conduct the survey in or before October, then announce in late October or early November the export quotas for the coming year,’ a market observer said on the sidelines of the 2014 China Molybdenum & Tungsten Industrial Annual Meeting in Luoyang over the weekend.
