Metal Bulletin reported that during the first nine months of 2015, Antofagasta plc (LSE:ANTO) produced 7,300 tonnes of moly at its Chile-based Los Pelambres mine. That’s a 32.7-percent rise from the year-ago period.
As quoted in the market news:
The jump was due to the mine entering the higher molybdenum-grade phase of recovery. The molybdenum grade was 42.9% higher in the three quarters ended September 30, compared with a year earlier. Molybdenum sales from Los Pelambres, in Chile’s Coquimbo region, were up 20.7% year-on-year to 7,000 tonnes.
