Sri Lanka Expects First Coal Power Plant to Cut Generation

Bloomberg reported that a coal plant in Sri Lanka will produce cheaper power to support the country’s expanding economy.

The market news is quoted as saying:

Sri Lanka’s $42 billion economy may grow 8.5 percent in 2011 and 9 percent in 2012 from an estimated 8 percent expansion in 2010, according to the central bank.
