Global Coal Shipments Could Reach 1 Billion Tons

Bloomberg reported that Indian demand may fuel a billion-ton coal market.

As quoted in the market news:

Seaborne coal trade will expand 4 percent to 956 million tons this year as Indian purchases gain 12 percent and imports into China climb 8 percent, according to data from Clarkson Research Services Ltd., a unit of the world’s largest shipbroker.
