CIL plans shipping JV with SCI for steam coal import

Steel Guru.com reports that  Coal of India is considering a 50:50 joint venture with Shipping Corporation of India to facilitate importing logistics.

The story is quoted as saying:

CIL plans to import 6 million thermal tonne of coal either from the open market or through long-term contracts in this fiscal based on firm commitments from power utilities including NTPC, Damodar Valley Corporation and others.
