Rio’s India Diamond Fight

Sydney Morning Herald reported that activists are making allegations that Rio Tinto (NYSE:RIO) is exploring diamond opportunities in India without government permission.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The Bunder mine project, near the city of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh, about 500 kilometres south-east of Delhi, could be one of the largest diamond reserves in the world, Rio Tinto says.
