MMTC to Buy Stake in Russian Conglomerate Alrosa

Mineweb reported India’s MMTC (BOM:5133770) is eyeing a stake in Russia’s Alrosa (RTC:ALNU).

The market news is quoted as saying,

Russian diamond conglomerate Alrosa, which sold an estimated $3.15 billion worth of rough and polished diamonds during the first eight months of 2011, could soon have an Indian partner, in a deal expected to touch $2 billion.
