Lonrho Mining’s 131 Carat Diamond Valued at $3.5 Million

Lonrho Mining Limited (ASX:LOM) announced it 131.4 carat diamond recovered at the Lulo Concession in Angola last month was valued at $US3.5 million.

Lonrho Mining Limited (ASX:LOM) announced it 131.4 carat diamond recovered at the Lulo Concession in Angola last month was valued at $US3.5 million.

As quoted in the press release:

The valuation is contained in a report by Independent Diamond Valuers Pty Ltd (IDV), who inspected and valued a sample of 292 diamonds, weighing 495.7 carats, recovered by Lonrho from a series of alluvial bulk samples at Lulo. The diamonds were washed in acid before being inspected and valued.

The IDV report ascribes a total value of $US3.91 million to the sample of 292 alluvial diamonds from Lulo.
