Harry Winston Announces Discontinuance of Ekati Lawsuit

Harry Winston Diamond Corporation (TSX:HW, NYSE:HWD) announced that it received a formal Notice of Discontinuance of the court action filed by C. Fipke Holdings Ltd against the company as well as other companies including BHP Billiton Canada Ltd, Archon Minerals, and Stuart Blusson. The court action related to the company’s proposed acquisition of BHP Billiton’s interests in the Ekati mine.

As quoted in the press release:

The discontinuance of the action and waivers of the rights of first refusal permit the transactions between Harry Winston and BHP Billiton to proceed, subject to satisfaction of closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
