De Beers Era Ends

Mineweb reported 99.94% of shareholders voted in favor of Anglo American’s (LSE:AAL) $5.1bn acquisition of De Beers.

Anglo American shareholders voted overwhelmingly in support of the US$5.1bn purchase of 40% in diamond miner De Beers, heralding an end to the Oppenheimer era at the world’s leading diamond producer.
