Vickie Sek, the director of the jewelry and jadeite department for Christie’s Asia noted that the sale of the diamond marked the third record breaking diamond result at Christie’s in one season, following world records set for diamonds at the auction house’s sales in New York and Geneva.

‘Collectors continue to show immense depth when bidding for great gems and masterpieces in the world of jewelry auctions,’ Sek said.
