Botswana Diamonds Wins Exploration License
Mining Weekly reported Botswana Diamonds (LSE:BOD) won an exploration licence in the Kaapvaal craton area in May.
Mining Weekly reported Botswana Diamonds (LSE:BOD) won an exploration licence in the Kaapvaal craton area in May.
As quoted in the market news:
Botswana Diamonds chairperson John Teeling says diamond giant De Beers, which held the licence for more than 20 years, did little exploration on the ground owing, in part, to geological conditions.
He states that the area is regarded by industry specialists as being prospective, but the thick Kalahari sands made historic exploration difficult as these techniques cannot see through the sand cover.
